tropical sunlight.

tropical sunlight.

weaving my way in and out of the palms

knowing full well i’m searching for calm

the outside world becomes so loud sometimes

nature is where i like to go to soothe my energy and my mind

take off my shoes, run through the dirt

temporarily forgetting all of the thoughts that hurt

i can be myself here, in this paradise

the detail and beauty here is so very precise

nothing is missed. only cared for

and each time i’m reminded that this is what i prepared for

the stillness, surrounded by birds

the little beings who sing meaningful songs without words

here i am free, i am alive

i’d always choose to walk barefoot instead of drive

the heat brings little beads of water to my skin

i dance with gratitude for the love that radiates from within

this place is a comforting expanse of green

it’s a safe haven for my soul to run to when the world has been mean

i can wander half naked through the dense forest of ferns

finding bliss and serenity around every single turn

no matter what happens in my day to day life

i always know i will be healed by the tropical sunlight.
