Tyler and I are obsessed with Pike National Forest. It’s so beautiful and private. You can really get away in here and when you do finally emerge, you feel so refreshed. We camped next to a couple in their van and we definitely decided that we will come live in here for a bit when we get our van. How can we not??? You can park right at The Colorado Trail trailhead.

The specific area we love, is the part of the forest near Conifer + Evergreen. There’s a road on the left after you pass Conifer that takes you right down (just type in The Colorado Triail in your GPS while in the area).

The beauty here is truly incredible. We spent our time during the day down by the river since it was in the 90’s! We didn’t really feel like doing any crazy hikes when we could be down by the water. I mean, right?

People actually tube down this river all the time! We watched many people float by and happily waved.

I will say, trying to bathe in this river is VERY hard because of how cold it is. Even on a 90 degree day…you lose your breath when you jump in!

The next morning before it became too hot, we headed into town for (you guessed it, coffee) and to get cell service to check in with our families. On our way back to the river, we stopped and jumped on a quick hike before it became too hot. It didn’t last long, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

The beloved TrailHawk performed perfectly! We love her.
