A Trip With Friends | Golden, Dillon, Keystone, CO

As you already know, Tyler and I LOVE Colorado. I lived here for a couple of years and before he met me, he’d never been! I’ve had so much fun showing him where I used to live and hike. But this time, we brought our best friends along with us.

Both Tyler and Brittany had never been on a large plane before…so this was going to be interesting!

I was SO excited to show our friends where I used to live: Golden. Golden, CO is one of my favorite places ever. It’s a small town nestled between Denver and the mountains. You’re perfect distance from both! There is a gorgeous river that flows through the heart of the town and there are many nice places to sit and enjoy the view.

I also took them to Bonfire Burritos (the BEST PLACE EVER). I showed Tyler back when we first came together in 2019 and now it’s a tradition for us. The next two times we visited, we would get some Bonfire and go eat it down by the river. And that’s what we did for our friends and they loved how peaceful it was.

On our way to Dillon, we took them to see Lookout Mountain and then ate lunch at Beau Jo’s pizza in Idaho Springs, CO. That is another one of my favorite places to grab a bite after a hike!

See that pretty little brown sign to the right? That’s Beau Jo’s!

We finally arrived at our little Airbnb in Keystone! We were greeted with such a beautiful view. Later that evening, we decided to walk around and see if there were any trails that were walking distance from where we were staying.

The epic view from mine and Tyler’s bedroom!

UGH Lake Dillon is SO beautiful! It was very cold but VERY worth it. I loved seeing the happiness just radiating from our friends. It felt so good being in Colorado again. Tyler and I hope to own a mountain house in either Colorado, Northern California or Washington in a few years.

Of course, we had to take them to the top of Loveland Pass! It even started snowing while we were up there. It’s insane how small you feel when you’re surrounded by the rocky giants.

And the entire time, I’m happy as can be. I love and miss this place so much! Coming to this beautiful, winter wonderland is truly something amazing when you’re coming from flat Florida! I will say that Florida does has some beauty as well. I’m just more enchanted by the mountains.

“The best view comes after the hardest climb.”

A little corny…but entirely accurate.

Thank you so much to our wonderful friends, Brittany + Deven for making this trip extra special!
