Car Camping | Pike National Forest, CO

Pike National Forest is one of my FAVORITE places I’ve ever been. There’s this special energy in the woods and the river. If I could just plop a tiny house on some of this land, I really would! It was also amazing showing Tyler somewhere that meant so much to me. He’s truly my favorite person on this world and sharing this with him was nothing short of magical.

Every little adventure together brings me so much joy! I am a true believer in “experiences over things.” I’d much rather have several trips booked with the love of my life instead of fancy cars or diamonds. All of those special moments make up what life is supposed to be.

After our hike, we decided to go down and grab a quick bite to eat (I got a VERY delicious ice cream cone). A typical afternoon mountain thunderstorm was rolling in so getting out of the rain for a bit was a good idea. The day could not have been better because of the simple fact that we were staying right down the road and had nowhere to be! Just driving around and exploring Pike made for a day well spent!

I have what I like to call “my special spot” here along the river. It’s a cute swimming hole made possible by a very large boulder that blocks the current. I will not say exactly where this spot is as every time I come out here, I’m lucky to have it all to myself! Even this day, we were alone!

When the sun started to go down, we scored a great parking spot right on the river and opened the trunk. We laid there listening to the water and snuggling in our cozy car bed!

The last photos here below are from our trip back going through mountainous Tennessee! This was a wonderful end to our 2nd anniversary trip! Thank you Ty, I love you!
