Camping in Lake Santeetlah, NC

I’ve always wanted to go car camping on a road trip. There was just something so appealing about not having to put up and take down a tent everywhere you went. I really liked the simplicity of car camping. Fun fact: I actually used to want to live and travel in a van/car for a few months just so I could see some cool places around the country.

Anyway, we decided before we went back to work that we would take this opportunity to hit the pavement together! June 1st was our 2 year anniversary and taking a little trip is our thing! For our 1 year, we went to Colorado and Tyler saw the Rockies for the first time!

I’d say my dream car is probably the 2020 Subaru Outback (the green one, of course). We ended up scoring a shiny, new Mitsubishi Outlander from Enterprise! They made it really easy to extend our trip and handle everything smoothly.

We ended up typing in a random camp spot address into our Google Maps and just prayed that it would work and luckily, IT DID! I meannnn do you SEE this view?!

The weather ended up turning on us, which we didn’t anticipate. We had no idea that a tropical storm was about to dump on all of North Carolina. At first, we didn’t know what was happening and tried sticking it out and heading to Bryson City.

Lake Santeetlah was very beautiful and the town of Robbinsville is amazing. We stopped and got pizza from Papa’s Pizza To Go (which is literally, the best) and just hung out by the water. And the hospitality was out of this world! Everyone in this town was so kind to us. This was a great beginning to what ended up being an almost 2 week road trip!
